Botanical Watercolour Painting

Spread the love

Come and learn how to create simple botanical images using watercolour paints, to develop fabulous flower and leaf paintings.

You do not need any prior experience and even if you do not consider yourself as a great artist, you will be amazed at the wonderful images you can create by using a few watercolour paints and brush.

– General overview of using and mixing colours to create different effects (including wet on wet and wet on dry)

– Guide sheets will be provided so you can practice techniques

– You will be able to create your own colour palette and chose the colours you want to use

– Demonstrations will include how to use simple brush strokes to achieve simple flowers and leaves

There will be lots of tips and guidance provided so you can confidently use the paint brush and paints. And be given time to practice the different flower and leaf shapes.

It is a lovely way to make new friends in a relaxed, friendly and social environment. Whether you come on your own or with a friend, you will be greeted with lots of smiles and be ready to have a great time.

The workshop is for complete beginners and you will be able to take home the practice sheets to carry on your new found skills as these will include some follow on ideas for you to continue to practice with.

You will start to develop your own painting style by the end and be able to take away the botanical images you have created through the morning. You will be provided with paints and a paintbrush but if you have your own, please feel free to bring them along too.

“Attended the Botanical Watercolour Painting Workshop today @ Creative Coffee Hub, Selly Oak. Absolutely loved it! Lisa was a brilliant teacher, so generous with the materials provided and encouraging to help our creative juices flow. Really grateful for the materials and guidance booklet we got to bring home so we can continue our own watercolour journeys after the workshop. Thanks Lisa & I will definitely be back again xxx”

“This was so much fun, Lisa made everyone feel comfortable whatever their skills. The workshop was relaxed and I learned such a lot. Can’t stop practising!” Tina, Solihull
